6:27

6/27 A day that changed our lives forever!
He showed his independence early on,
refusing to meet us until 9 days after
what was predicted.
But he was well worth the wait.
In my last post I did not mention
a third proud mommy moment.
I took the boys into a restaurant for dinner.
As we walked toward our table
there was a man in a wheelchair.
His hands and arms were so contorted
that his fingers touched the insides of his wrists.
He was hanging half out of his wheel chair.
His fingers trying with all their might
to pick up a tiny piece of french fry
off the floor.
He could not grasp the fry
it was just being pushed around.
Don't worry about the fry!
I thought....
my kid will make a much bigger mess!
But he was determined.
Trent watched
I look up
to see
a family of 6
staring.
A feeling of nausea hit.
I look at the girl
staring
eyes wide
mouth open.
I look at my inquisitive son.
Do I want him to be a gawker?
Is he scared?
Will I be asking too much?
"Bubba, could you hand him his fry?"
He did not hesitate
his face was one of
completing a mission
not fear.
He put the fry in the mans hand.
Eye contact.
A crooked toothless smile
to a crooked toothless smile
a high five
and thank you.
I know why he was born on this day.
Luke 6:27"But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.30Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.31Do to others as you would have them do to you.33And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' do that.34And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even 'sinners' lend to 'sinners,' expecting to be repaid in full.35But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.36Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
I was very grateful to be able to spend the day with my
birthday boy.
We started the day
swimming with friends.

He gets real excited when his girl visits!
Next on to lunch and play
no surprise where that was!
Appetisers!

Then FINALLY
what he had been waiting all summer for!
Dirt, tractors, daddy!

Last year I couldn't get him off the machinery.
This time,
this was the closest he would get.
He talks about tractors constantly
but really did NOT want to get in one.
That's OK,
the best part was a picnic with daddy and Uncle Scott
anyway!

It was an excellent day
ended with passing out
as soon as the seat belt clicked.
Love, the rockinryans
