Its my burfday!!!!!!!!!

 June 27th, 2010
Started out an ordinary day....
watering flowers with Grandad...
Then I got a present!
It was hard to open, so Gracie helped.
Mama said I better call dada
so he could wish me a BIG
HAPPY 1st Birthday!
Then I remembered,
it is MY burfday!
I was so happy,
so was MAMA!
Today was also a BIG reunion.
There were tons of people there.
They made me feel SO special.
Everyone wished me happy birthday
and gave me lots of love and attention.
I had a great time playing with my cousin, 2nd and 3rd cousins,
and eating yummy Lebanese food!
This was definitely my best burfday EVER!

I was pretty uncomfortable
(and huge)
last harvest...
At the time of this picture I thought
my baby would
NEVER come out!
Little did I know that only
24 hours
later....
standing only feet from where this picture was taken,
in the middle of a wheat field,
my water would break!
This year, having our new harvest helper
was much more fun!
And comfortable!
What a difference one BIG year makes.

DADA's day!

My life has been blessed with superior fathers.
My grandfathers were fun, creative and loving.
My dad is an amazing role model, energetic and loving.
My father in law is a great listener, entertaining and loving.
My husband is caring, giving and loving.
Watching my husband during his first year of fatherhood has been incredible.
Trent loves his DADA and Jake adores him.
My son is lucky to have so many wonderful men in his life.
Happy Fathers Day!

BIG move....

Unorganized

Prepared!!
I hate moving, but I used to at least be an organized mover.
Packing while my helper just as quickly unpacks the boxes proved more of a challenge.
So, lets just say I wasn't so organized this time.
I really thought I was.
But we arrived at our new home shortly before lunch time.
After snacks no longer curved his appetite we decided it was time for lunch.
I brought a can of veggies.....
oh, no can opener.
Didn't I have a fruit cup in the bag....
nope.
But I did have a jar of baby food left!
No spoon.
So, I did what every quick-thinking-mother-unorganized-moving- nurse would do!
Fed my baby with a syringe.
As you can tell, he thought it was pretty funny!
One day while cutting up watermelon, I wondered why?
He thought this was great too!
We have lots of work ahead of us, but are having a great time exploring our new home!
And taking a little time to rest.
Hope you are too!

Big steps!

Last week Trent had some BIG milestones. His first tooth FINALLY popped through!!
I was getting a little worried....thought he was going to be needing dentures soon!
And he is beginning to take some steps!
If he is holding onto an object, and not thinking too hard about what he is doing, he does this....

We will keep practicing!

BIG weekend!

Our BIG crazy summer is off to a fabulous start!

Our little man is 11 months old! I can't believe we are getting ready for the big FIRST B-DAY!
As I write this, I keep looking at how I began the previous sentence..."our".
Last Sunday our family dedicated Trent to the church.
After all the colic, the sleepless nights, spitting up and just plain stress of having a life placed into my hands, I realized one thing.
All that was easy.
Compared to standing in front of our church and family and admitting.....this is NOT OUR child.
It is easy to forget that he is, we all are, gifts.
His life is in the Lord's hands.
GULP.
It is instinct to want, want, want. Mine, mine, mine. Especially a life that was made within your own body.
But we trust in the Lord and know that He is in control.
That He will watch over our little man,
because He loves him more than we know.
We are looking forward to raising Trent in the church.
Looking forward to our church and families supporting and guiding us on our journey together.

Trent's older cousin (17 days older !) had her first b-day party!!
Happy Birthday AJ!
You are the sweetest girl.
We love spending time with you and watching you grow!

Some of us are having more fun packing than others...

No Memorial Day is complete without a picnic!

"You pull them".....
"no you!"
Papa will take care of that!

Hope everyone had as much fun as we did!
