I don't wanna leave!

The boys woke up
and loved running around the room
eating breakfast
where they chose!
After swimming all morning
we headed out to the
Dinosaur restaurant.
As we were walking out the front doors
of the Lodge,
Trent started crying and said
"But I wanna stay in Kansas City!"
I had to explain that KC wasn't just
this one hotel,
KC is a BIG city
with lots more fun stuff to do!
(gotta love the innocence!)
Big Guy was scared of the
moving dinos,
but Baby just laughed at them all!

I think the digging for fossils
was actually their favorite
activity the entire trip!

Back at the Lodge....
I told Big Guy
the next best thing to eating in bed
while on vacation
was
jumping on them....
(am I a bad influence???..)
A trip to KC
is never complete
without stopping at Cabela's
for a little target practice...
picking out
summer vacation items...

and checking out the fishies!

I am so grateful
to have such good little
travelers, shoppers and companions!
I think KC will forever be special to them too!

PS~
I just looked back at our
Looking at those pics
makes me laugh and cry
at the same time.
Big Guy looks so....little
and adorable
and I miss
his baby face.....
Seanie boy
was in my belly
(I didn't feel so hot, but the excitement
of meeting him was great.)
And Seanie is now (already)
wearing the jeans
Trent had on in those pictures!
What a big, wonderful year we had!

KC here we come!!

Last week was
our first
family vacation!
We were all super excited
and the boys did
fantastic
in the car!

As we drove into
Kansas City
we pointed to
"The Great Wolf Lodge"
and said~
"Here is your surprise!
We are staying there!"
Big Guy's eyes got huge,
he smiled at all the slides
turning in and out of the
huge cabin
and he said
"Is that our new house?!"
For a few days it is!
We walked into the big
beautiful lobby.
Their eyes were wide
with happiness and excitement.
"So, this is Kansas City"! he yelled.
Kansas City was always a magical place
for me as a child too.
I will never forget the excitement
I would feel as we would
walk into the mall and I would see
the big bright pink
Hello Kitty store.
That was my KC!
I hope these memories
are as magnificent to them!
They couldn't wait
to hit the pool,
but were both very intimidated
once there.
(pics are on a water camera, to be developed later!)
Then it was back to the room
and ready for dinner.
I think just being
in the hotel itself
was the best part for them!
Baby screeched and squealed,
they laughed and jumped
all around the room
then down the hall.
Our little wolfs
at dinner.
(That was in a tent!)

That night was an adorable story time
where it even snowed inside!
Baby was mesmerized,
loving every second!
Never short on making us laugh,
the story teller
came out and asked if anyone
had ever read the book
"Silly Sally"
a couple hands shot up,
then I look down to see
Baby's little chubby arm shoot up into the air,
raising his hand!
We laughed soooo hard,
I guess he has read the book before!

Note how tight
he is holding onto Daddy!
I told the boys
one of the best parts of staying
in a hotel
is having snacks in bed.
So, we hit the snack shop and
had ice cream in bed!
Yum!
(I think Mommy was the most excited about doing this!)
The boys slept great,
good thing because
we had lots more fun in store!

TJ

Trent Jacob~
you are
2.5 years old!
28.6lbs (45th%)
35.75in(50th%)
Last week was your first
dentist appointment.
You did great!
So brave,
you make me proud!
You still don't have
some teeth
that you should.
They took x-rays
the teeth are there,
shaped at a slant
and coming in
crooked.
Not much we can do about it.
The dentist thinks
it is a good thing,
they are protected
and absorbing lots of fluoride!
She said you will be
upset when you are about 7
and haven't lost any teeth yet
when your friends have....
but they will be healthy.

Last week was also big
because we enrolled you
for the
2012-2013
school year.
Exciting,
but sad to know you are growing up so fast.
As we left the school
after enrollment,
I asked you what you thought
of your new school.
Your reply~
"She doesn't have a school bus."
You are an awesome
big brother.
It is fun to watch the two of you
start to really play
(and fight)
together.
You are still very loving
and want to cuddle a lot.
At night you want Daddy
and in the mornings
you crawl in bed
beside Mommy
to play with my hair.
You say "motorcycle"
without the motor now. :(
You are sleeping much better now,
only waking once at night
or not at all
in 11 hours.
You keep me entertained daily
and
we love you!

Today

was one of those days....
one that I thought back
to those commercials
"Cal-gone, take me away"....
and truly now know
how that woman in the tub felt...
one of those days
where my husband
reminded me that we are halfway through
"the terrible twos"....
(I reminded him that
numerous people have told us 3 is
more
difficult)....
one of those days
where I count down
the hours till bedtime....
one of those days where
I didn't dare
make any plans
knowing the outcomes
would not be positive.
but, we HAD to get groceries.
I thought we could make it
in and out
quick.
They love the little car
usually that keeps them happy...
but it was only 10am
and they were already grounded
from snacks....
so, I couldn't use that.
About halfway through
our trip
I hear it
the screams.
I look down,
big guy has baby
in a headlock.
they are just playing
laughing,
but I know it will turn bad fast
I tell him to let go
he won't
baby is turning red
still smiling
hanging out one window
his brothers legs
sticking out the other.
i finally get them
separated
pull big guy out
by his coat.
he is dangling there
as a lady walks by
smiling.
You better keep walking lady
nothing to see here...
my kids both have
socks AND shoes on!
but she just smiles at the scuffle.
I am embarrassed,
mad,
frustrated.
as I swing big guy into the cart
in a way
that won't
win me any
mother of the year
awards.
she laughs.
"oh great, go ahead lady
tell me what you think"....
I am SO DONE with this day....
this is all I need....
"My son has triplets,
all boys,
around that age.
I know what you are going through".
THANK YOU!
Someone without a critical word.
All I could muster
as we all 3 stood wide-eyed
staring at her....
"God bless him".
I threw everything and everyone into the car
sped home,
and threw them into bed
for much needed naps.
Although the woman at the store lifted
my spirits some,
I was still mad
at myself
for the events of the day.
I wish I could
handle these situations better,
or stop them altogether.
I wish I could be the mom
I dream of being.
I feel so guilty
for wishing away
my time with them,
I am so lucky to have it.
I think I am really
screwing up these boys.
I curled onto the couch
to escape into a book,
first doing some
face book reading.
A friend had just posted

Coincidence??
Maybe....
but it sure helped.
It is good to know
we are not alone!

10months

Sean Thomas~
You are
10 Months old!
20lbs 6oz (65th%)
27.5in (20th%)
You can not STAND
to wear socks or shoes.
You ALWAYS pull them off.
You about got Mommy into trouble
lots of times
while out.
People do not like seeing
barefoot babies
in the winter!
But we managed to
somehow
not let those little feet
freeze.....
and kept Mommy from
taking down the next person
with a snide remark.....
AHEM.....
You finally have 2 teeth!!
Love playing ball,
in fact
that is about all you want!
You are getting around
and around
and around!
Giving us a run for our money!
Into everything,
loving every minute of it!
You are fast....
I was only brushing my teeth!
You love yelling "BUBBA!!!"
And Dadda is a close second.
Mama is occasional :(
I can kind of make out "Doggie"
when you see one on TV
And you say "Up"
while climbing the stairs
(which you are very good at.)
Still all smiles
a great eater and sleeper.
This was a big week.
You got your first haircut.
You did great!
Only getting upset
at the very end.

Bubba was a big helper,
keeping you entertained!

I felt like making that sad face too
when we were finished.
Something about a hair cut.....
turned you from my baby
into
a little boy :(
You are our little "clown"
always trying to make us laugh!
We love you
and can't believe we are planning
your 1st Birthday Party!!!
