silly bunny dirt

If you would like a serious picture
of our family...
don't look
here!!
The Easter Bunny found us again!

Time to count eat the loot!
What else does one do with a big blue ball?

Have you ever seen the commercial
of the man smoothing fresh cement on his sidewalk-
the scene pans to fresh prints
left by an adorable boy?
The man grits his teeth, smiles at the boy,
gently lifts him from the cement
and continues smoothing over the prints.
The commercial speaks of
an exercise of patience.
I thought of that commercial
as our kids had a blast
playing in the dirt
that Grandad
just paid to have reseeded.
He would have been VERY angry at the mothers of these two
if they would have done this some years ago.
But this day, he didn't say a word.
Why can they get away with so much?
Patience and love from Grandad.
We love you Grandad
and someday
we will help you mow
the beautiful grass
you grow!

Tonight....a first!

I didn't know the response I would get when I
asked Trent if he wanted his brother to take a bath
with him.
 He was thrilled!
He ran up the steps as fast as he could,
yelling "Sean, Sean!"
As you can see, Sean equally adores Trent.
Here's to clean boys!

water, eggs and glue

Spoiled by The Bunny!
We ♥ Uncle Scott!

Sometimes I think twins would be so fun!
But cousins are great too!

The first step of egg coloring....
test the colors..
Second,
give Grandma heart attacks every time you
THROW
the eggs into the water!

Three,
take a picture of
EVERY egg you colored!
Four,
protect your eggs from
PAPA!

Time for arts and crafts!
Lets worry Grandma more with
GLUE + TODDLERS + CARPET....

A very artistic bunch!

Time for the big egg hunt.

With no girls of my own,
I will just drool over my
adorable nieces
and their awesome dresses!
Thanks Ryan clan for a
rockinryan Easter!

The first sign of summer....

The pink cheeks?  Nope...
The sweaty hair? Nope..
Shorts?   No....
Sandals?  Guess again!

Looking forward to a summer full of skinned knees!

Cooking with Trent

Is lots of fun!
Play-dough cookies were up first,
a perfectly colorful Easter dessert!
Begin with dough,
Add some color,
to get brighter color, we used gels.
Mix and refrigerate.

Because you are already messy, it is a good day
to eat spaghetti!
Form into a colorful collection.
Swirl or smush together.
Bake and enjoy!
Hard boiled eggs:
Crack eggs...
(peel)....
Smush....
Viola!
Hope to cook for you soon!

A little follow up...

I can't believe I forgot part of my
"hat wearing" boy pics!
He LOVES birdies.
Watching them, chasing them and especially feeding them.
This is probably his most favorite chore of all!

I know that this post was not fun and easy to read.
But this is the truth about our life as a family.
It is not all fun and definitely not easy.
When I share our stories it is
1. A type of diary for me.
2. A way for family and friends to feel a connection to us.
3. A way for me to vent.
4. When I know that others share the same struggles as us, I feel a sense of connection.
I am not afraid to share our struggles and get advice from others.
Hopefully I can also be a positive influence in helping other parents know they are not alone in their daily challenges.
What I forgot to mention in that post was that
Trent loves loves loves his brother.
Although there has been big change in his life with
a little less one on one time and attention,
he has never once taken it out on his brother.
He showers him with hugs and kisses.
Wants to help in all the care giving.
And protects him like a big brother champ.
We are very proud of how well he has taken on his new role.
