Going home

Our scheduled train
was due to arrive at
03:30.
We were so proud of the boys,
we woke them up at 3 am,
they got their own stuff together
and we went to the hotel lobby
to board the shuttle.
The desk clerk told us
the train was running late
and would arrive at 5!
"Don't you have the app to get updates?"!!!!!
NO!
Lesson learned!
But, better to be early than late!
So, we trudged back up to our room and went back
to sleep!
After a few false alarms,
our train arrived at
7:15!
It was a pretty morning
and the cool air felt good as we waited.
We never thought about
trains running late.
Just as flying,
or any other form of travel,
one must learn to go with the flow!
The boys never complained
and we were just glad
we were not driving ourselves!

Always an adventure
with these guys!

Here they come!

First things first.....!

Tired=pure silliness.

Never too early
to break out the candy!

It was my birthday!
Couldn't think of a more
fun way to spend it!

The boys met some friends
from Arkansas.
Spent the entire day having fun with them.
There were some crazy's
but, for the most part
our fellow passengers
were all very nice.
It was fun to sit and visit
and learn about
why they were on the train!

New Mexico and Arizona
were both very mountainous and pretty!

He snuck away
and I found him like this!
Sleep pic #5! 😴

Arriving to Dodge....
8 hours late!
But, we did sleep all night
which was nice!
He didn't mess around though,
sleep pic #6!

Even with delays,
this trip was fabulous.
The boys traveled by
train, shuttle, bus and taxi
for the first time.
All the boys
saw the Grand Canyon
for the first time.
We had lots of time
to enjoy each other and not
think about
"normal" life.
Priceless!

Bearizona!

Squirrel!!!

Bearizona is a fantastic
animal sanctuary!
The animals were peaceful and happy.
We were able to get up close
and see animals we have never seen before.

The otters showed off the entire time!

The bird show was so fun!

Look out!

"feeding the birds" ($)!!

Bird lover... 🐔

At first I was upset
we didn't have our own car for the drive through portion.
But, once we got going on the bus,
I realized this was the best way to go!

Our driver told us
all about the animals,
their names
and stories about their rescues.

Trent took pics on the camera
from one side,
and I used my phone on the other.
He got some great pics.

Another reason I was glad
to be in the big bus....
the animals are not afraid to
get close to the cars!

Buffalo butt!

She would get out
and feed them,
bringing them up close!

We highly recommend Bearizona!

Meanwhile, back at the hotel....
for our last night.

Look mom,
train robber!

Our hotel was just a block
from Route 66!

So we walked down
to check out the cute restaurants and shops.

Old time Pepsi!

Williams Arizona,
what a fun place!
