For Fathers Day

Us women decided to take pictures of ourselves....
Just kidding.
For some reason the men go
"Find better stuff to do"
when it comes time to get
their pictures.
Oh well,
we love all the men/fathers
in our lives
so,
we try not to torture them......
too much!

The cousins had a fun, lazy afternoon together
swimming, coloring
and playing with Trent's new Lincoln Logs!
Oh, and fighting over who got to kiss the baby.

We also celebrated Grandma June's birthday.
With the "Happy Birthday" song lead by
the boy with the mic!
He LOVES Grandma June.
He asks about her all the time.
"Grandma June home?"
"Grandma June eat?"
So he was super excited to know it was her birthday.
Another fun day of celebrations
for those we love.

Growing

Look what we had to order....
Sittie- your guess of 3 days was a little off
(even though I didn't expect the last order
to make it this long)~
but you still won the prize!
You have won your very
own
full day
of diaper changes!
Congratulations!
You may claim your prize any time!
I remember when Trent
turned 3 months.
That was when his real, fun, smiley personality
really started shining through.
Sean is starting to do the same!
His little giggle and big smile are contagious.
Before it got too hot
I took my giggly energetic boys
for a long walk to Dillons.
On the way home we stopped for
a slushee
and happened upon
a garage sale.
The first for the boys.
Trent really liked all the little trinkets
and the adorable puppy lounging under
the women's feet
waiting to take our money.
We found a (very old) set of
GO Fish cards.
I have no idea if they are all there,
but that is OK.
He loves fish and to my surprise
understood the game better than I expected.
We had fun playing our first game together
and again to my surprise
he sat still!
I have been waiting a long time to play
"real games" with him!
But soon, he decided he wanted to play with
"real fish" instead.
More diapers
more smiles
more "big boy" games.
Wow, they are growing fast!

silly

While eating some left over birthday cake--
he made me LAUGH
so hard
I had to sit down!
The harder I laughed
the sillier he got.
But he really had no idea what I was laughing at!

I think I will be sad when he someday
has a real mustache.

Tuesdays with Trent AND Sean!

*CAUTION*
If your name is Dada, Papa or Grandad,
Please don't read this post until after June 19th!
Thank you!
We started the morning playing trucks!
After a quick trip to Wally-worlds...
do we go there every day????
It was off to story time!

Trent isn't the only one that enjoys the library.
Sean has been mesmerized by the stories the last few weeks.

On our way home we remembered that we forgot
Flag Day!
So....
Then, lucky day for mama,
2 boys slept for an hour at the same time!!
Last night Jake got home and looked in our living room.
"You cleaned" he said.
"Yes, I did!"
He is such a great husband,
he always notices my hard work.
Yes, we were serious,
and yes
this is our clean these days......
So, since the house was clean,
what to do with my hour?
I have been organizing all my photos and videos.
I had the goal of completing this before we moved
a
year
ago.
Still a work in progress.
Partly because I sit down with the best intentions,
then I run into videos like this....
And get sidetracked
and sad
and happy
then someone wakes up.
But he just likes to hang out.
So I went through some old stuff and new
to prepare a gift for a friend at work
having a baby soon.
I love, love, love Baby Soy.
They are the softest things I have ever felt.
I bought her some
and maybe some for me Sean too!
I also gave her some Newborn diapers last week....
that my little one had outgrown way too quickly....
but, when I found the bags in my cabinet today
for some reason
I couldn't part with those.
Those are still in my cabinet.
I went to put away some WM purchases
and found him in the bathroom.
The horse is possessed.
Or maybe our house is,
I don't know.
But I do know that the horse talks
by itself.
In the middle of the night.
Trent woke up screaming two nights ago.
Jake went in to see what was wrong.
"Scared!!" Trent yelled.
"Of what?"
"Horseeeeee!!"
I really can't blame him,
I am scared too.
I was feeding Sean at 4 am the night before
and heard him Neighing....
So, Jake
allegedly
turned him off
and put him in the guest room.
This morning Trent locked him in our bathroom.
I am not kidding-
10 minutes after I took this picture
I was downstairs and heard that horse neigh.
Guess he didn't like the bathroom.
Nap time over!
Snack time...
guess what he chose?
After snack, time to work on Fathers Day gifts!
Note-
Working with clay is not fun or easy....
thanks WM lady.....
If you have been to my house recently
you may have noticed some new decor.
No one really asked why
we have the word in our kitchen.
When the more popular are
"Eat"
"Love"
"Laugh"
Originally, we made Sunshine
because every morning
at breakfast Trent would look out the window
and yell with excitement
"Sunshine!"
Always eager to start a new day.
I love the way he appreciates the small things.
And felt he really brings sunshine to my life.
But now, it does have more meaning.
Last week at work
I was reading a book
entitled
"Being a Great Mom, Raising Good Kids".
Yes, I need all the help I can get!
But you remember this?
I am feeling so much stronger now.
Not because of books or videos.
But because his behavior has been so much better.
Yes, he has him moments.
But we have all adjusted well to our new family.
So, anyway a nurse noticed my book and asked why
I was reading it.
"Because I have a Strong Willed Child" I laughed.
"Don't you call him that!  That is a negative term."
I thought she was being sarcastic,
I thought it was a nice way to say
stubborn or hard headed.
But, she was serious.
"I had a strong willed child.  You have to think of a positive way to describe them.  Strong-willed will hurt.
My daughter was the "Sparkler" in my life."
Man, she really got me thinking.
She is so right.
I felt bad.
I thought I was being nice.
But saw what she was saying,
and I completely respect her
because she raised two beautiful, successful girls
by herself.
So, I thought and thought.
Superman?  He likes superheros.....no..
My fighter....no...
When I told Jake about it, he was standing in the kitchen
and said "Sunshine.  Sunshine is strong and beautiful."
(And we can't live without it!)
Ahhh....that does sound better than Strong Willed!
One of the best ways to keep the kiddos busy while
I fix dinner is to have them "bake cookies"!
Trent could do this all day,
and now Sean gets to play too!
After dinner I thought we would go for a swim,
but out of no where this rolled in....
So, we did some learning instead.
I have to be honest,
I really didn't know the meaning of Flag Day.
So, we did some activities that taught us both!
"I Pledge Allegiance....."
Is this still done every day in school?

I thought it was a little hard to find information
geared towards kids
(and adults that need kid-like teaching!)
But found this great web-site....
Tummy time!
He hates it,
always rolls to his back
then laughs at me.
Another way he and his brother differ.
We couldn't get Trent off his tummy!
Bath time.
Something they have in common,
they both LOVE the water!
Trent was so excited that Daddy made it home to do bath time
with him!
Night night boys.
I love you
and had a great day.

Sweet dreams!

TWO!!!!!

How could you possibly be TWO already??
It was finally the day of your big party!
You loved helping with the decorating!
But before that, months ago, I asked you what theme
you wanted for your party.
"Dinosaurs, trucks, balls?"
"TRUCKS, DIRT!!!" you yelled.
OK, so you chose your invitations.
And picked out your party decor
(how many people do this at Home Depot?)
But, I guess that is your favorite store!
Your party turned out fantastic!
Great job my little party planner!
You and Mama had a fun time making your cake!
I love this boy stuff!

You put all your guests to work!

You loved your belt, complete with tools.

All of your guests were so kind with their gifts to you.
You got some great stuff!

Including big boy underwear.
And you carried on the Evans tradition of
modeling for all.
We have been practicing your birthday song for weeks.
You were a little shy when the time came,
but I know you loved it.
Proof being that since your party you have been singing
"Happy Birthday......me......2!!"

Aunt Eisha was your cake cutter and photographer!
A dream come true....
your very own
TRASH TRUCK!!
Thank you Grandma June!
Time to swim,
but you were not about to part with your hat!
Favorite Auntie Marsha came all the way from Montana
for your party!! Yippeee!
We could not have asked for better weather!

The day after your party we were all tuckered out.
We sat by the pool, relaxed and napped.

And ate more "M's"!

Happy Birthday!
These 2 years have been the best ever!
You warm my heart and
make me laugh
like no one else can.
We love you!
