waiting...

for updates?
Posts without pictures
are boring.
I am having severe difficulties
with getting pictures
downloaded right now.
So hopefully soon I can tell you
about
our big race day!
But for now....
yes,
Big Guy bravely sat still for a shot
in his arm (his choice)...
stood up
pointed at his hand
and said
"Nutter shot??"
We all looked at each other in shock.
"How about some smarties?" The nurse replied
"OTay....and band aid".
They gave him both,
but as we were leaving he turned
and grabbed another roll of smarties
off the table.
I started to say no,
but he quickly handed them
to Daddy
who was almost in tears
from his shot.
Never ceasing to amaze me
like usual.
Crazy boy!

honestly,

sometimes I feel like
the worst mother
in the
world.
I wonder if
I am doing this thing right.
I worry that
I put too much pressure
on my boys.
That I will steer them wrong.
Am I hugging them enough?
And.....
I forget
to buy
them
clothes.
Like I said before,
typical KS weather last week
going from steaming hot
to pretty cool
practically over night.
It caught me off guard.
Do my kids have winter clothes???
Luckily baby
has some
hand-me-downs
that will fit for now
but
poor big guy.....
I thought maybe we could get away
with last year's pants....
nope
he grew a little more than I thought!
We tried to shop a little...
but
It is not easy finding
pants to fit his no-waisted body.
Guilt overwhelmed me.
That night I tried to sleep
but tossed and turned
knowing my poor sweet boy
had no clothes for winter.
So, I got out of bed and did some midnight
on-line shopping.
Ahhh....now I can sleep!
Jake asked me the next morning if
that 12 hours of waiting to order
really made a difference....
I don't know,
but it gave me some piece of mind.
I had big guy try on another pair
of old jeans,
asking him to say something
"sad".
He put the jeans on and yelled
"Enchilada!!!!!"
(I wasn't sure if I should take this personal,
do you not like my enchiladas?)
I then told him to look sad and say
"Booohooo".
This is the saddest he got~
Thanks for the reality check buddy!
You could care less that
your jeans are
high-waters
or your shirts are all
3/4 length sleeves.
You just want
"Mommy play with me!"
Sounds good to me,
I hate shopping anyway!

Birthday Boys!!

Last week we celebrated
2
big days!
Daddy had a birthday,
(we celebrated 3 times)!
The boys started by
making their annual
daddy birthday paintings.

On Daddy's birthday
we planned on
taking him a picnic lunch
while he was working on the farm.
But it was COLD and windy!
Luckily, he was working next to a house
so we had an inside picnic.
The boys were still
super happy
just seeing Daddy!
Big Guy
checked over every cupcake
in the store before picking out
the perfect ones.
He practiced singing
"Happy burfday DADDY!!"
the entire ride to the farm.
No birthday is complete
without wrestling!
The next morning Daddy
opened his presents
and we sang Happy Birthday
again.

That night he finally received his
birthday dinner
and this time
cake, ice cream
and candles (thought they would be a little dangerous
to take to the dry farmland!).
Big Guy loved celebrating
and is still singing to Daddy every day!
This little man
celebrated
his
half-year
birthday.
17lbs 6oz (50th%)
25in (5th%)
Only one size away from catching
big brother on diapers and pants!
He sits up on his own completely,
rolls any place he wants to go,
is starting to babble,
LOVES big brother,
hates bubbles,
seems to be maybe getting a tooth.....,
wakes once at night during
a 12 hour sleep,
eats 8oz of food at once
3 times a day,
starting eating "puffs" and can get them from
his hand into his mouth
all by himself,
LOVES Gracie
gets ANGRY
when anyone tries to give him
a bottle and he is not hungry,
loves to cuddle,
likes car rides,
loves to paint
has a contagious laugh
and is a pure joy.

Happy Birthday boys!
We love you!

Flu shot day

Today big guy got his flu shot.....
(maybe....)
How do you think he reacted?
Please take the poll on the right....
keep in mind he is abnormal.
For lunch every day last week
he asked for
avocado, cucumbers and tomato's.
Good luck!

KS State Fair

I have never been to a fair in any other state.
But I do know KS
has the perfect
fair activities
for my boys.
Soooo excited on our
long drive to the "pair!"
Wearing our
"Motorcccccccyyyccccllleeeee"
and tractor shirts!

Nothing better than
feeding and petting animals...

Riding a choo-choo train....
eating snow-cones...
picking out new tractors....

and riding rides!
I thought this was the same ride
that just last week
made him cry.
But now
Mr. Hot Stuff
decided he needed to
put his arms up in the air!

We even took a step up
and rode a ride
that went up
"Higher than Daddy!"

He loved it
and even told me to
"Put your arms in the air Mommy!"
As he screamed like we were on a
roller-coaster!

Usually we like to partake in
the fair food too,
ya know,
(funnel cakes, BBQ, nachos, pronto-pups....)
but we passed due to the heat.
Stuck with drinks, ice and ice-cream.
It was 101 degrees that day,
Most likely the last day of summer.
The next day we turned off the ac,
opened our windows and got out jackets.
Two days later
we had to close the windows
and I was tempted to start
a fire in the fireplace.
Another thing I love about KS~
the fall weather!
It was hot,
but we had a great time!
Jake and I went to the fair
when we were first dating
and had to agree
taking these two
was much more fun!

Trent talk

He is a pretty serious guy~
but he still says
some funny
and heartwarming stuff.
~~At the football game~
I told him it was almost over
he said
"NO! Turn it back on!"
~~The day after going to the fair
the boys were exhausted.
I drug them through WM
whining and crying the entire way,
even after 11 hours of sleep.
Went home for a nap
and they still woke up whining!
I was exhausted
and sick of the crying.
I knew we had to get out of the house that afternoon.
So, off to the gym we went.
As we backed out of the driveway,
Big guy says~
"Is Jesus coming with us?"
Oh my,
I hope so!
~~One day Big guy
looked at his brother and said
"Ohhhhhh, Sean-ee boy, Sean-ee boy."
The name has stuck!
The way he says
"Motorcycle"
is priceless.
He is always coming up with something
that makes me smile!
And who can deny it~
Baby's laugh is pretty heartwarming too!

First and Six

We received a call
and ran right over
to the first football game
for the boys!
This fine young man was
1
yes, smaller then big guy is now
when I first met him.
I would sit in the stands with him
listening to his crying for daddy
as we watched
my boyfriend
coach
with his daddy
at East High School.
Seriously,
where has time gone?
His older brother is now playing
varsity
and me and that boyfriend
now married
with two
energetic boys of our own.
Big guy
thought he was hot stuff
at the game.
Imitating
the way the big boys
sat
and
yelled at the game.
It gave me chills
thinking about
how soon
my stadium seat climbing
boy
would be out on that field.
And how did baby feel
about football?
Talk about growing up....
how can my oldest niece be 6 already?
We had a blast
at her birthday party.
Big guy enjoying more firsts~
bowling
and the arcade.
He dug it all!

Happy B-day Kendra!!

(Their first big-kid party!)
Who is being attacked...
the balloons?
the baby?
grandma???
