Race Day!!

We would like to start by saying
THANK YOU!!!!
To those of you who donated
in our names
to support
There were many reasons
this day was important to us.
And your generosity
meant so much.
10,500 people
attended the event.
It was a chaotic morning
and multiple mishaps occurred
for me.
My I-Pod died,
so I ran in silence.
My watch didn't work
so I couldn't time myself.
My timer chip
didn't work
so they did not time me.
I was very frustrated
as
I had a goal in mind
and very much wanted to achieve that goal.
I have been working hard daily
and let myself get very bummed
that I was not accurately timed.
But when we got home from the race
my mom asked
if there were lots of survivors there.
I noticed some bald heads
and scarves,
but honestly
I
had not paid much attention.
I let myself get wrapped up in
myself and my minuscule problems.
I forgot the REAL TRUE reason we were there.
To help fight the fight,
not
run 2 minutes faster.
Lesson learned.
Trent's race.....
was almost ruined
by this guy....
Yes, we love McyD's,
but really.....
Ronald wasn't looking so hot that day.
And having him stand in the middle of the race track
was making lots of kids pretty nervous....
WU-Shock
was standing on our other side.
Trent wanted me to hold him
he really doesn't like
any "characters".
He was even shaking a little.
I was worried that all our practice
and excitement
would be wasted
thanks to them.
Warm up with Syd!
Lining up
(or backing away!)
Once we started running
all was great!
I was yelling
"RUN BUBBA, RUN!"
Because that was what he told me to do.
And he laughed and ran.
(Away from WU-Shock!)
But directly into Ronald!
He looked up,
stopped in his tracks,
jumped back
and gasped.
I pulled him around
and kept him running to the finish line.
Break down averted.
You can see the end of the
Ronald encounter here...

Celebration with Aunt Eisha!
After our racing
we walked around to all the vendors
and games.
He insisted on "carrying" the
"Pink bag".
This made everyone smile.
The sheriff and dog
were not as bad,
but still
this was as close as he got
just because there was
a sticker involved.
Sydney not so sure either!

It was a little chilly
that morning
so Baby
decided to stay home with Sittie.
He was still a great fan!
We did it!
Big Guy did great
and had a wonderful time.
In fact
he asks often to
"Race again?"
so, on to the next race!
Love, the rockinryans
