The day has arrived!
Kindergarten ready!
It really did seem surreal,
going to his new classroom,
a BIG boy "real" school.
A classroom,
lunch room,
library
and gym.
A locker all his own,
your Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Thorell,
the mean lunch lady,
a nurse
and
librarian.
And one little boy
ready for new adventures.
I am not really emotional,
I never believed I would cry.
But on enrollment day,
when I pulled up to the "real"
my
emotions were difficult to describe.
A mix of happy,
excitement and sadness.
Did I do my job
well enough these past 6 years
to prepare you for this?
So many new things to experience
on your own!
You, silly Minion lover,
next year!
For now, you are starting a new school this year too!
"Little Sprouts" Preschool, here you come!
A desk all your own,
fresh school supplies,
always super fun!
And the morning has arrived!
A little nervous,
but so happy and excited.
And being silly.
"Look, I can cross my eyes!"
Silly sweet boys,
ready for a big day!
On the way to school!
The arrival.
We were allowed to walk him in
for only 2 days.
I think we were all in a "shock"
walking through the hallways.
I worried about my "baby"
doing this on his own in just a couple of days.
Calm, relaxed and pleased
with his new
"Kindergarten role"
upon pickup!
I knew I wouldn't have to worry
when this happy
boy bounded out to the car
at the end of the day!
We celebrated with IHOP!
This was a HUGE milestone for our family.
It was scary and emotional,
but I have to say,
it has been great.
The boys are both doing great,
loving their new schools and being grown up.
Making more decisions on their own,
meeting new friends and finding their paths.
I am so proud of the little boys they have grown into.
