Camping in 2012

The heat
around here
has put a damper
on some of our
summer fun.....
but there was
a lull.....
we took advantage
and headed
to the
great
outdoors!!
Daddy set up the camper
and we arrived
just in time
to see him pull up
on the boat!
The boys were
sooooo
excited.
They checked the campsite
and camper out
from top to bottom.
Guess who gets excited
about food!

Big Guy
brought a Frisbee...
Baby
decided to play
Frisbee with
Zee-Zee...
poor Zee-Zee!
He got a
BIG time bath
on our return home!
All that open area,
and guess where
a Frisbee goes???

After our cookout
it was time to hit the water.
Baby's first time!
Big Guy is still nervous.

But Baby was fearless,
wanting to walk around,
look over the side,
probably jump.....
oh, we will need
a faster boat
for him someday!

Our girl
still loves
being out there too!

It is hard
to get this boy
to smile.
I mean SMILE.
Not, "say cheese"
or "I am doing this just to please Mom" smile,
a true
heart felt
REAL
EMOTIONAL
smile.
When I saw this happen
many times during
our camp out,
I knew all the work done
before and after
was well worth it.
And I knew we found
something that not only
does our family enjoy
together,
but it also brings
pure joy
into the boys lives.

Believe it or not,
it actually got a little chilly
on the boat.
So, we hit the sand.
The boys spent the rest of the evening
on
a treasure hunt.
Big Guy
is still very protective
over all the treasures
they found that night.

These two
spent the evening
playing together.
So sweet!

Gracie acts
so young
when at the lake.
Its so fun
seeing her like this
again too!
Baby went
on his own treasure hunt,
we called these finds
his shark teeth.
He was proud!

Pure joy,
my sunshine.

"I Love Camping!!!"
After much wrestling,
jumping
and giggling,
they crashed.
The camper was cozy and
we all slept well
under the stars!
Then we were up for
more adventures.....
love, the rockinryans

Kari - we have SO MANY happy camping memories growing up. It was fun looking at your pictures - brough back some fun memories. It can be a lot of work packing up for the lake, but it's always so worth it!
